Our Story
We are three friends and recent graduates of Carnegie Mellon University, with degrees spanning Interaction Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Humanities, and Human-Computer Interaction. With a motivation to help humanity toward healthier and more valuable relationships with technology, we passionately and carefully designed Muse — an app for kids to meaningfully engage with technology through active creativity, worldbuilding, and immersive reading experiences.
Michelle is from Ellicott City, Maryland; Bryce from Los Altos, California; and Emily from Fremont, California. We come from backgrounds in teaching, visual arts, working with public school systems, and most importantly, working with kids.
Growing up in first-generation immigrant households, we know how the paths towards advanced literacy can be challenging without robust support systems. Therefore, the belief in the value of fun and engaging books accessible from a young age is one we hold personally. Our mission is to make Muse this support system for any child; Muse is a personal storyteller, creative helping-hand, and knowledgable source of inspiration — all in one.
